During an exclusive interview with Xinhua, Wang said the United States has launched a global campaign against a private Chinese company without any solid evidence, calling the move a textbook example of bullying.
"The constitutions of more than 100 countries in the world stipulate that the exercise of fundamental rights and freedoms must not endanger national security. The European Convention on Human Rights has similar provisions," the mission noted.
"We are always ready to develop a China-U.S. relationship featuring no conflict, no confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation based on coordination, cooperation and stability," he added.
Secondly, China will firmly follow its own path of development and pursue its rightful goal of great national rejuvenation for the Chinese people. Washington should rid itself of the delusion that Beijing will somehow change course and adopt U.S.-style political and social systems.
Wang's view shows that "China intends to continue following the path of strengthening partnership and equal cooperation with all countries that are ready for this," said Vasily Kashin, head of the Department of International Military-Political and Military-Economic Issues of Russia's National Research University -Higher School of Economics.
BEIJING, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese diplomat Yang Jiechi said on Friday that what has happened shows that no obstacle is insurmountable for China and the United States, and the key lies in a true commitment to mutual respect, equality and seeking common ground while shelving differences.
Wang said that China-U.S. relations are facing the gravest challenge since the establishment of diplomatic ties, and their exchanges and cooperation in many areas are being seriously disrupted.
The two countries are unlikely to have greater confrontation since "for purely economic reasons, it is not convenient for them to enter into a dangerous escalation," said Carrion.
"Our message is quite clear: We urge the United States to stop acting with arrogance and prejudice, but enter into constructive dialogue with us on an equal footing. We hope that it will work with us to ease current tensions and put the relations back onto the right track of no conflict, no confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation," he said.
The relationship between the CPC and the Chinese people is as close as between "fish and water" and between "seed and soil," Wang said, stressing that those who attempt to break this strong bond are making themselves enemies of the 1.4 billion Chinese people.
Some U.S. politicians seek to tarnish China's image, he said.
